Q: How do I qualify for the SRS designation?
A: 1. Take the two day SRS course.
2. Pass the exam at the end of day two.
3. Pledge to abide by the REALTOR® Code of Ethics by being a REALTOR® or REALTOR®-Associate and maintain that membership in your local, state and national association of REALTORS®.
4. Maintain your membership in the SRS Council.
5. At this point, there are no required electives. When electives are required, members in good standing who have attained the designation and have paid their annual dues will not be obligated to take additional course material.
Q: Where do I take the course?
A: The SRS Designation course is available in a live format through sponsoring associations. Look at the Course Calendar on this website for details of upcoming live format classes. We are in the process of a full revision and update of our online course that we expect to be available in Fall, 2009.
Q: Can you direct me to a full description of the SRS designation course requirements? I understand there are four modules. Are those four all covered in one SRS 2 day session?
A: Yes. A summary of the course topics is found under the Candidates tab above.
Q: When did you start teaching the SRS program?
A: We began to independently market the course and designation in early 2006.
Q: How many SRS designees at this point?
A: Over 2000, increasing monthly.
Q: How are you promoting the designation to the consumer, and the real estate industry?
A: We work through a variety of sources. Our partnering associations, our cadre of national trainers and our website are powerful marketing tools that we have in place and are furthering our development of the designation. You can be sure to see continuing efforts to market the value of a specialized seller representative to the public. On our web site under the Home Sellers tab is a piece titled "8 Reasons to Use an SRS."
Q: How does SRS education differ from the CRS listing course?
A: The CRS course is almost completely directed to marketing. The SRS covers a more comprehensive look at seller representation, including marketing, but also discusses the full lineup of legal issues, Code of Ethics issues and practical issues of getting the listing from acquisition to closing.
Q: Any sorts of discounts, promotional coupons, etc, available for early sign up - that kind of thing?
A: These are dependent on the course provider, usually a sponsoring association.
Q: What is included in my course cost?
A: The course cost includes tuition for the course, all materials for the course, and a free one year membership to SRS Council (a $99 value).
Q: Do I have to pay continuing dues to keep my SRS designation?
A: Yes, the annual dues for membership in SRS Council are $99. Your first year's membership dues are included in the cost of your course tuition. Membership dues are payable on the aniversary of your completed course date each year after your fist year. You must also continue to be a REALTOR® or REALTOR®-Associate and maintain that membership in your local, state and national association of REALTORS®.
Q: What do I get for my $99 annual dues?
A: The $99 fee includes access to the members only section of http://www.srscouncil.com where you will have access to tools and information to help build a successful business. You will also be able to use your SRS designation in all of your marketing helping you stand-out from the competition. Additionally your name will be included in the SRS directory which will provide one more opportunity to be in front of home buyers and sellers. SRS Members will have a variety of tools and options available to only them. As a current SRS Member, you will receive our monthly SRS CareerPro eNewsletter with timely industry information on seller representation to keep you up to date on the latest trends.

Q: How do I get my SRS Certificate?
A: Your SRS Certificates are viewable and printable online - this requires a pop up box so make sure your computer allows pop up boxes from our website. We do not send paper certificates because we think the online version gives you maximum flexibility to print our your SRS Certificate in whatever way you like and as many times as you would like.
Q: How do I view and change my profile information?
A: Logon to the SRS website to view and update your profile and personal information. After you logon, you will see links to "Edit Your Information" and "View Your Profile." You can change your information through these two links, including uploading a photo. This is the only way we have to keep in touch with you. This is especially important when you change companies and/or change email addresses.
Q: What if I forget my username and password to logon?
A: Use the "Forgot Username or Password" reminder link - your username and password will be sent to the email address you have on file.
If you have any difficulty logging on, please just send us an email to CustomerService@SRSCouncil.com. We will verify and send you your correct username and password.
